A unique way to prepare for an out of hospital birth...

Excitement is in the air as you prepare for your birth. The baby clothes are being purchased, the nursery painted, and all the boxes arriving on your door step with all the supplies to make sure that everything is just right for your little one's arrival. As the days draw closer, the realities of birth make their way to the forefront of your mind. Excitement, nervousness, joy, and fear fill your heart and mind. These are all very common emotions that can surround birth.

You begin to ask yourself "How should we best prepare for this process?"

Birth Unbound is here to help prepare you for all things birth, breastfeeding, and newborn. But we are unique in our method of childbirth education. We are a one-of-a-kind homebirth and birth center education program. Not only will we cover the facts surrounding all things birth and postpartum, but we will also dive into a lot of the emotional/physical/mental prep that is necessary for birth. We want to to help you unwind the ideas and anxieties you may have around birth so that you can walk into this beautiful and natural process with peace, confidence and excitement.

A combination of videos, lectures, group activities, couples activities, and hands on practice will help you to be in a place where you feel ready to bring these sweet ones earth side.

Some of the topics that will be covered:

  • What does the birth process look like?

  • Emotions of birth

  • Labor positions and comfort measures

  • Making a birth plan

  • Working through fears

  • What to expect in the postpartum season

      And much more...

and Certified Lactation Educator Counselor

Sarah is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, a Lactation Educator and Counselor, and a Birth/Postparum Doula. She is currently residing in the south metro with her husband Joshua of 12 years and her little flock of kids (four of them) ranging in ages from 10 years old to the baby.

Sarah has a passion for instilling confidence in families and helping them to have positive experiences throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Sarah has a strong desire for families to more than just survive, but to truly thrive. Through relationship, education, and a listening ear Sarah loves to walk with families through all the different seasons of their childbearing years.

Whether she is supporting families in feeding their babies, providing a listening ear during the postpartum, or educating families in classes it is Sarah's main priority that families feel respected, heard, cared for,  and empowered. Watching families walk out this calling of parenthood with confidence is one of her greatest joys.

Outside of birth work you can find her sewing, cooking, baking the next new recipe, drinking coffee while listening to a podcast, homeschooling her kids, learning all about gardening and chicken raising, out in nature, or snuggled with her kiddos.

Terri Schelkoph

CBE instructor and Birth Doula

Terri is a Certified birth doula through DONA International, A Heavenly Welcome Practitioner, and a hypnobabies trained doula. She is currently residing in the south metro with her husband Jon for 19 years and her six delightfully boisterous children.

Through the birth of her own children, she recognized the value of knowing her options, feeling educated in the decisions she was making, and being empowered to start her journey of parenthood. She understands that a new mom can pendulum swing between feeling confident and secure one moment, and self doubting and and insecure the next.

She has a passion for being a mama’s biggest cheerleader, encouraging them to be who they were designed to be. Outside of birth work you can find her with her nose in a good book, drinking copious amounts of coffee, homeschooling her children, enjoying sweet friendships, or serving at church.
